Starbucks Is My Life

Okay, I don't know about you guys, but I have a serious addition to Starbucks. I am not a coffee drinker, but I love their pink drinks. It is the only caffeinated drink I like beside iced tea, and I drink iced tea so much it doesn't give me energy anymore. The pink drink is a strawberry acai refresher with coconut milk. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it.

One thing that has helped a ton is the Starbucks mobile app. With this app you can upload money or gift cards and use it to buy drinks. For every dollar you spend, you earn two stars. When you earn 150 stars, you can get a free drink. I don't want to tell you how many free drinks I have gotten because the number is slightly embarrassing.

Starbucks uses this app for more than just payment and earning stars, they use it to market. Throughout the week, I get notifications from the app telling me about happy hour or specials they have on drinks. This brings attention to the store and makes people want Starbucks, even if they didn't before the notification.

Starbucks is one of the many stores that have created an app to help increase business. Other retail stores like American Eagle, Victoria's Secret Pink, and Ulta Beauty have also created apps for their business. These apps make online shopping way easier which could lead to purchasing more. I know I have fallen into these traps way too many times.

    I'm not really a coffee drinking so I will have to try that drink! Thank you for the recommendation! I also have never lived near a Starbucks so I have never felt the need to download the app but I'm sure I'll end up downloading it!

    I very much enjoy coffee, and Starbucks in particular. I think they are very innovative with their app creating and social media management. They always seem to think outside the box and be a couple steps ahead of every other major coffee brand. It is no wonder why they prosper so greatly.

    Retailers that create apps to enforce a rewards system are seriously SO smart! I know the Ulta that I work at is huge supporters of the Starbucks app since we will order together and one person will run across the street to pick them up. This was a really interesting topic to talk about this week!

    I remember the trip we made to the Starbucks in Lima and how confused Derek and I were that it was in the hospital. But it was a fun trip and I tried something new that wasn’t coffee.

Birdin' Around Town

One of my new favorite activities is Birding. I found Bird's in Atlanta, Georgia two years ago and every time I go to any city that has Birds, it is a necessity. You're probably asking what Birds are. Bird is a company that has placed motor scooters around cities to help with transportation and help with the carbon footprint. Bird has created a fun yet helpful way to get around the city. It is super easy to use as well. All you do is download the Bird app, add a credit or debit card, then you're set. When it's time to bird, you pull up the app and scan the bird you are wanting to use. Once you scan it, it will begin your ride and you can ride for as long as you want. The more you use the app, the cheaper your rides become. When you're done, you select end ride and take a picture of your scooter to prove you didn't wreck it. Dream Job Became Reality

When you hear someone is a model what do you picture? A beautiful girl with flawless hair, skin, makeup? Maybe someone that's really tall and slender.  Yeah, I did too, well until I had the chance to model myself. I never in a million years would have imagined that I could have the opportunity to model for anyone at all.
